REX Rappahannock
Heather Gardner is the owner of REX Rappahannock.
Let's get to know Heather.
When do you start planning your holiday window, store displays or social media posts:
I am constantly brainstorming social media ideas and doing fresh ones pretty much daily.
What new gift or special offer are you most excited to offer your customers:
Oplatki! It's an old Eastern European Christmas tradition (Polish/Slav).
Strangest question asked about a holiday retail item or special offer:
What's oplatki?!?
Will you offer a holiday event or treat to your customers:
We will be doing some later evening shopping hours, especially before St. Nicholas's feast day.
Share your holiday shopping fail:
Trying to match number of kid presents is always a trick.
Great debates: Clear or colored light displays and gift bags or wrap gifts:
Green lights in store window to match our store's signature color.
Always gift bags! I am horrible at wrapping.
Have you ever hidden a gift and not been able to find it? If so, what was it and to whom was it to be given:
We collect ornaments when we travel to decorate or give the kids as gifts. I inevitably misplaced them and only find them *after* Christmas.
Have you ever switched a name tag on a holiday gift and why:
Not that I remember.
Weirdest holiday gift received and your reaction:
Weirdest for.most people, but best ever for me were Zamboni driving lessons.
Best holiday gift given and their reaction:
Trolls Live! Concert tickets for our youngest daughter... She's a big fan and it made her cry with joy.
Unique or bizarre holiday tradition:
Not Christmas, but at Thanksgiving we all confessed a few years back that none of us are huge turkey fans, so we now to roast beef at Thanksgiving instead. It's fantastic!
Last minute shopping or shopping months in advance:
Yes to both!
You will find Heather at 311 Frederick St.
