The City of Fredericksburg is home to award-winning, innovative healthcare. Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) is the region’s largest healthcare system with two hospitals, three emergency departments, and over 50 outpatient facilities. Mary Washington Hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. MWHC is also the region’s largest employer.
Two regional hospitals are also available to serve the area’s residents: Stafford Hospital (part of MWHC) and Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, an HCA facility.
In addition to these major healthcare providers, Fredericksburg and the region are served by a variety of specialty clinics, urgent care centers, surgery and rehabilitation centers, and a well-established free clinic.
