Citizens who wish to participate in a meeting’s public comment period will be able to send their comments by submitting the EDA Public Comments Form, or email Amy Peregoy at aperegoy@fredericksburgva.gov. Comments must be received at least one hour in advance of the meeting – for example, comments will be accepted until 7:30 a.m. on days with a 8:30 a.m. meeting. The plan is to read these comments out loud during the public comment portion of the EDA meeting. The standard rules apply to public comments: the person must identify himself or herself by name and address, including zip code, limit his or her remarks to 5 minutes or less for those attending the meeting in person and 3 minutes for submitted letters (read aloud) with a 40-minute cap on the read letters. All comments must address a topic of EDA business. Citizens wishing to speak in person during the public comment period must sign up with the Economic Development Manager prior to the start of the meeting. Public comments will not be accepted on video feeds, including not being permitted on Facebook nor website broadcasts.
