BronzedBerryBest Advice for Others:

If you desire a life filled with greatness, you must learn to say "no" when it's necessary, but never take "no" as a final answer. Creating an extraordinary life requires intentionality and dedication. You must be willing to set boundaries and reject things that don't align with your values, while also acknowledging the small successes along the way. Often, the path to breakthroughs and success involves facing rejection and obstacles, but it's important to remain steadfast and creative in pursuing your goals. Remember, the word "no" doesn't mean the end, but rather an opportunity to find new ways to achieve your dreams.

What a Competitor Would Say About Me:

I believe they would acknowledge our emphasis on using natural ingredients in our sunless tanning products. While some in the industry may downplay the importance of ingredients, we strongly believe that they matter, especially as more women are experiencing immunocompromising conditions. We manufacture our products locally with a strict focus on safe, gentle, and effective ingredients, both natural and synthetic. Our goal is to make our products accessible to women of all ages, conditions, and stages of life, including those with sensitive skin, battling illnesses, and expecting mothers. We understand that not all synthetic ingredients are harmful and we scrutinize every ingredient to ensure its safety and sustainability. Ultimately, we strive to be a trusted brand that prioritizes the health and wellbeing of our customers.

First Job:

When I was just 14 years old, I began my journey in the workforce, spending summers working in Food Services at the esteemed University of Maryland, College Park. Under the guidance of my father, who was the Director, my brother and I were not granted any special treatment, and instead started at the bottom in manual labor positions. Since then, I have remained dedicated to the value of hard work, consistently juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities, even throughout my college years. It is not uncommon for me to manage two or three endeavors simultaneously, driven by my unwavering commitment to excellence and the pursuit of personal and professional growth.

People I Admire:

The individuals I admire the most are not in the public eye and prefer to remain anonymous. My parents, a trusted and faithful clergy member, and a woman who serves as my life coach all fall under this category. These amazing individuals have lived genuine lives filled with both successes and failures, but what sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to make decisions that align with their core values and faith.

Best Life Experience:

So, me, my hubby, and my bestie went on this epic backcountry camping trip in Glacier National Park. We stumbled upon some lakes so clear they legitimately made me cry. It was stunning, but we were all exhausted both mentally and physically. The fact that we stuck it out together and came out on the other side made it one of those memories that you just know will remember for the rest of your life.

What Makes Me Passionate About My Work:

I absolutely love being an entrepreneur and owning two businesses in FXBG. My first baby is BronzedBerry, which has been thriving for 12 years now. We offer natural Spray Tanning and Teeth Whitening, and our studio has a friendly staff and products from other small women-owned businesses. Our e-commerce side is also booming with digital courses and shipping our products across the country. My passion for entrepreneurship comes from my Dad who inspired me to start my own business and pursue my dreams. When he was diagnosed with Melanoma, I knew I had to take the leap and create BronzedBerry, which allowed me to spend time with him and ultimately live his dream. I get to help others, be my own boss, and have the flexibility to be a wife, mother, and give back to the community. It’s the perfect fit for me.

Something I’d Never Do Again:

Backcountry camping in Glacier National Park.. just kidding. But seriously, I can tell you one thing I'll never do again - use a tanning bed. It's just not worth it. Did you know that in the US, two people die from skin cancer every hour? That's two too many in my book. And the sad truth is, many of these cases could have been prevented. Tanning in a tanning bed increases your risk of developing melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer) by a whopping 75%, even if you only do it once in a while. Having lost my father to this disease and witnessing the toll it takes on others, I can say with absolute certainty - I will never, ever go near a tanning bed again.
