Walker-Grant Middle School houses grades 6 through 8 in a beautiful building set on an expansive campus. Its energetic and diverse faculty members are dedicated to the school’s motto- “A Tradition of Excellence” by providing strong academic experiences for each student. Walker Grant’s block scheduling of classes allows students more time on task to experience differentiated instruction as well as group and individual activities.
The importance of the middle school years in building students academically requires a rigorous curriculum with offerings ranging from Algebra I to foreign language instruction to computer instruction in five modern labs. Mobile labs are available for wireless Internet use throughout the building. The school has a full range of visual and performing arts, technical education, special education, and gifted and talented programs. Students may explore art education, strings, choral music, band, and a full range of middle school athletics. The school’s modern facility accommodates extensive after-school clubs and intramurals. The academic program also extends through the summer months with a variety of remedial and enrichment opportunities.
