The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority (EDA) has developed a façade improvement matching grant program to offer technical and financial assistance to qualified businesses or property owners seeking to renovate or restore building facades and improve site conditions in the Lafayette Boulevard Overlay District, as a primary gateway into the city’s 40-block National Historic District.


Commercial property owners and businesses located along Lafayette Boulevard from Princess Anne Street to the Blue and Gray Parkway are eligible for the Lafayette Boulevard Corridor Facade Improvement Matching Grants Program.

  • Prior to applying grant applicants are required to meet with the City's Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
  • Applications for the Lafayette Boulevard matching grants program are accepted: March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1.
  • Applicant is required to be in compliance with City of Fredericksburg taxes, permits, fees and regulations prior to applying.
